Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder received one of the top Bluegrass honors, being named Instrumental Group of the Year for the 8th time. This multi-award winning group includes Jim Mills, who was also given the title of Banjo Player of the Year. The show featured their incredible performance along with a 20-piece orchestra, the Nashville String Machine. They performed "Crossing the Briney," an original composition of Ricky Skaggs that is included on the latest album, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder Instrumentals.
